Jo-Ann, a 57-year-old barmaid, dreams of becoming a singer and actress. Weaving between spectacle and privacy, between extra and ordinary, she uses bars to stage the role of her life: one in which she feels happy and, above all, in control of herself.

Straddling genre boundaries, Fire-Jo-Ball paints a portrait of a woman looking for happiness, making pink her favourite colour, even if her life isn’t always rosy.
