The NFB during COVID-19: read the Commissioner's letter.

John Ware

Directed by Cheryl Foggo
Produced by David Christensen, Bonnie Thompson

Calgary filmmaker Cheryl Foggo pursues the origins of the legendary Black cowboy, John Ware, who lived and died in southern Alberta between 1882 and 1905. While attempting to unravel the mystery of his pre-Canadian past, it also seeks to correct the myth-making that has placed him at the centre of a convenient but incomplete and misguided narrative about Canadian identity.
