Les Villes Inconnues des Mères Disparues

Written and directed by Theodore Ushev

Produced by Christine Noël

In a world where cities are named after the first mothers who settled there, a young girl adopted by a loving couple writes a postcard to her biological mother, whom she has never met. Hoping that the card will reach her, she gives it to a mailman, a man recently bereaved by the loss of his own mother. Touched by the girl’s quest, he promises to deliver it. He then embarks on an epic journey by bicycle through 11 cities named after different mothers, each reflecting their unique character. From Clara, the luminous city, to Leah, the humble and generous city, the valiant postman searches desperately for her. One day, he decides to return to Anna, the gentle and nurturing city, to see the girl again. In THE UNKNOWN CITIES OF MISSING MOTHERS, Theodore Ushev delivers a melancholic tale with gentle nostalgia, recounting the importance of mothers and how their influence endures even in their absence.
