Second souffle takes the long and complex process of phytoremediation—the ability of certain plants to destroy contaminants in the soil—and puts it under the microscope. The project offers an original look at plant processes, taking the form of an interactive installation connected to a tract of land at Montreal’s Botanical Garden.
In the development stage, the team is seeding various plants in the designated plot at the Botanical Garden. They will then collect data using a variety of capture tools on-site. This data will be integrated into an interactive biomimetic piece directly inspired by the shapes, movements, materials and principles of plant life.
