Born to be Wild

Written and directed by Mike Marynuk

Produced by Maral Mohammadian

A timid houseplant sits in its pot, inside the high-tech but sterile apartment of its internet-junkie masters. Exuding malaise and outsiderdom, it gazes out the window at the suburban street beneath, observing the neighbours in their weed-whacking routine. It looks past this perpetual manicuring frenzy, and experiences a dream (perhaps a vision?) of a different life, and a place of belonging.
Born To Be Wild is an 8-minute short starring a neglected houseplant who builds up the courage to escape into the wilds. It is a hybrid of live action and stop motion animation.
