Dr. Bryce and TB

Written and Directed by Alanis Obomsawin

Produced by Nathalie Cloutier

Dr. Peter Bryce (1853-1932) was employed by Indian Affairs from 1904 until 1921. He played an important role as Chief Medical Officer, writing a report in 1907 about the severe toll tuberculosis outbreaks were having on Indigenous children in residential schools. His report was supressed and he was only able to publish it in 1922 after he was fired.
