Fear is central to our lives. Whether we realize it or not, it intrudes into many parts of our existence. It invisibly underlies most of our conflicts with other people, and it has formed the bedrock of political disagreement since forever. Starting from the filmmaker’s intimate relationship with fear, this feature-length film strives to shine the light of day on the emotion and broaden the discussion about its hold on us. But this is no weighty treatment of the subject. Christine Chevarie-Lessard is not afraid to play on our fears to create a comedy. Because it’s better to laugh in the face of fear.
