Momentum is a creative web series designed to capture the current socio-political climate of Canada. The series consists of 10-12 episodes, each under 2 minutes, made in vertical format for online streaming platforms. This is a joint production between the English and French animation units. It was conceived in reaction to profound societal changes currently taking place within Canada and globally: the shifting world order, threats to Canadian sovereignty, disillusionment with the established order, increased division and radicalization amplified through social media – all of which are a source of anxiety, division and threat to national unity in Canada.
