From Matea Radic: In 1992, the war in Sarajevo displaced me and my family. My mother and I moved to Winnipeg, and my father came two years later. I quickly assimilated and left any remnants of my former self behind. I resented having come from somewhere so littered with death. 25 years later, I decided it was time to begin unpacking this trauma and go back, in search of ‘home’. The journey begins with feelings of fear and doubt. The guilt of survival blossoms into understanding and self-discovery. It’s a hopeful tale that enforces the importance of reconciliation within oneself all while asking the question, what is home?
